Rub-on decal paper for inkjet printers
HPS was the first company to coat and offer rub-on (press-on) decal paper for inkjet printers.
We now bring you our third generation of rub-on decal paper.
HPS manufactures and sells a wide selection of other products including basic inkjet decal paper, economical gummed papers for the ceramics industry, and similar products such as our temporary tattoo paper for both inkjet and laser printers. Some of our other products include glow in the dark media, white and clear ultra cling media, white and clear static cling media all for both inkjet and laser printers. For printing bumper stickers or waterproof production labels on your inkjet printer try our white waterproof inkjet vinyl. Just a few of the other products we offer are glossy photo film, clear inkjet vinyl, and white inkjet vinyl all of which are self-adhesive. We are also a main distributor in the USA of flexible inkjet magnetic media. - Use our Rub-on Decal Paper (media) to make clear, permanent production decals that will adhere to almost any substrate including: most types of plastic, metal, glass, marble, slate, unpainted wood, any painted substrate. Great for most interior walls (nock-down finish), ceramic bisque, any glazed or unglazed fired ceramic or porcelain glass, most types of wax candles, and fiberglass.
- So why use rub-on decals rather than self-adhesive clear vinyl or water-slide decal media?
- Rub-on decals offer greater water resistance than water-slide decals and clear inkjet vinyl. Rub-on decals are also less prone to mechanical wear and tear from handling or even normal use. Another advantage to rub-on decals is that they are thinner than vinyl and make great looking permanent, thin, decals that almost give the look of being printed directly on the item they are applied to. Water-slide decals are ideal for decorative items and arts & crafts creations, whereas run-on decals are the better choice for production items. Rub-on decals accept almost any clear top-coating. Our rub-on decal media has been tested and shows good compatibility with the following clear top-coats: Oil Enamel, Acrylic, Epoxy, and Two-part Urethane.
- You must use Rub-On Decal Tack from HPS.
- Or a similar product, to use this media.
- Instructions:
- 1) Copy/Print on to the glossy side of the media.
- 2) Apply a thin coat of the Papilio Rub On Decal Tack. (If you are using Transfer Adhesive then follow the instructions that come with the transfer adhesive film.) Let the rub on decal tack dry for a few hours or over night. A second coat should NOT be applied.
- Applying the decal:
- 1) Cut out the image with scissors while holding the paper at a constant 90 degree angle to prevent the media from sticking.
- 2) Apply the decal face down onto the substrate to be decorated.
- 3) Apply pressure to the back side of the paper using a solid object, such as a pen or pencil, working in a circular motion.
- 4) Use your fingers or a sharp object to lift off and discard the paper media. The artwork (the decal) will remain on the substrate.
- For additional durability the Papilio Rub On Decal may be cover coated with various types of solvent based cover coats: epoxy, urethane, oil enamel, acrylic, etc.
- This decal paper can also be used on various types of substrates: wood, marble, slate, glass, rock, different types of plastic, metal, most painted substrates, fiber glass, cardboard, etc.
- DO NOT cut out the decal first and then apply the rub on decal tack as the edges of the paper will absorb the liquid making it difficult transfer the decal later.
